How We Compare FXGT for UAE Traders

How FXGT stacks up against SCA and DFSA-licensed brokers on cost, leverage and licensing. The comparison criteria we use, plus where the money actually goes.

CFDs are complex products; leverage magnifies losses as much as gains.

How We Judge A Broker

Every comparison on this site runs through the same filter, and the filter is built for people funding accounts from the UAE. We ask one question first: who is actually holding your money, and under whose licence? That answer matters more than any spread screenshot, because it determines what happens if something breaks.

Path of the money
You sendCards / Bank wireBroker accountUSD, EUR and JPYOpen positionStandard+/Pro/Optimus commission-free with spreadsYou withdraw2-5 business days

Then we look at cost, platforms, funding rails, and how fast a withdrawal request turns into cash back in your bank.

The AED is pegged to the USD at roughly 3.6725, there are no exchange controls, and profits move freely across the border. That makes the UAE an easy place to fund an offshore account. The hard part is never the transfer. The hard part is picking the entity you're transferring to.

Where FXGT Sits In The UAE Market

Offshore, and openly so. UAE retail clients are onboarded under GT Global Ltd in the Seychelles, which holds FSA Securities Dealer Licence No. SD019. There is no UAE SCA or DFSA licence behind that account.

Under UAE rules, any firm offering forex or CFDs to the public needs a local licence from the SCA/CMA on the mainland, the DFSA in the DIFC, or the FSRA in ADGM, and the registration number has to match the legal entity on your client agreement. Opening an account with a Seychelles entity is offshore activity that sits outside that local framework. Offshore means no local investor-protection scheme, and the entity name on your paperwork is the one that matters.

The trade-off is concrete: you get account terms a licensed local broker can't offer, and you give up the safety net a local licence would give you. Both halves are real.

Comparing On Cost, Not Slogans

Spreads and commissions are where most UAE comparisons live. FXGT runs six account types: Mini, Standard+, Micro/Cent, Pro, ECN Zero and Optimus. Five of them are commission-free with spreads from roughly 0.8 to 1.5 pips. ECN Zero flips that around: from 0.0 pips plus about USD 3 per side on FX.

For a UAE trader, the comparison that matters isn't FXGT versus a raw-spread broker. It's FXGT versus a locally licensed broker, where SCA/CMA retail caps sit around 1:50 on major pairs, 1:20 on minors and exotics, 1:10 on commodities and 1:3 on stocks. DFSA in the DIFC runs closer to 1:30. FXGT advertises leverage up to 1:5000 on Optimus, uncapped by any UAE regulator.

Same instrument, wildly different numbers. That gap is the whole point of the offshore option, and it's also where the risk sits, because 1:5000 doesn't make a position safer. It makes it collapse faster.

RISK ALERT
At 1:5000, a 0.02% adverse move on the notional position wipes out your margin. Local caps of 1:50 exist precisely to slow that down. If you want the high-leverage account, size positions as if the leverage weren't there.

Minimum deposits are low enough not to be a barrier: typically USD 5 to 50 depending on the funding method, and no broker-side deposit fees.

Getting Money In And Out

FXGT lists cards, bank wire, Neteller, Skrill/STICPAY, Binance Pay/BitWallet and crypto. Specific AED rails were not verified at review. Confirm with support before you plan around a particular method.

Base currencies are USD, EUR and JPY. There's no AED-denominated account, so AED funding gets converted, and you eat that cost somewhere, either in the spread or the conversion rate.

Timelines follow the rails rather than the broker. Card and e-wallet deposits generally land instantly, while bank transfers take around one to two business days. Withdrawals run back down the same path in most cases, which is standard practice for anti-money-laundering reasons.

The Criteria That Actually Matter

Regulation tier comes first, and we mean the tier that gives you segregated client funds, an independent dispute route and a compensation scheme if the firm fails. FCA, CySEC and ASIC sit in that bracket. Seychelles FSA supervision is lighter, and that's the trade you're making.

Platforms and what each is for
PlatformRuns onBest for
MT4desktop / web / mobileForex and CFDs, expert advisors
MT5desktop / web / mobileMulti-asset, more timeframes
WebTraderdesktop / web / mobileBrowser, nothing to install

Then transparency of cost. A spread of 0.8 pips with no commission and a spread of 0.0 with USD 3 per side are not the same product, and the only way to compare is to total them for your typical trade size.

Then track record. GT Group launched in 2019 under the GT brand, with entities in the Seychelles, South Africa, Vanuatu and Cyprus. Six years is not nothing, but it's not a decade either.

Then whether support answers when your withdrawal is stuck, not when you're signing up. Test that with a small deposit before you send anything meaningful.

If those four boxes matter more to you than leverage, a broker under a tier-one regulator will serve you better, and you'll give up the 1:5000 headline to get it.

Islamic Accounts And Local Expectations

Swap-free accounts are close to a baseline requirement in the UAE, and FXGT does offer them on request, with most assets swap-free for up to about two days. For most UAE retail clients this isn't a bonus feature, it's the condition for trading at all.

Check the detail rather than the label. Swap-free doesn't automatically mean every instrument is exempt forever, and holding a position past the stated window can still generate charges. Ask support to confirm which instruments and which timeframes are covered on the specific account you're opening.

After Weighing It All

Best suited for: traders who understand they're dealing with a Seychelles entity, want leverage and account choice a locally licensed broker won't offer, are comfortable keeping position sizes disciplined, and are happy to convert AED into USD or EUR. If you trade actively, want low minimums, and can live without a local compensation scheme, the structure works.

Currency note
USD, EUR and JPY

Not suited for: anyone who needs a local licence behind the account, a UAE regulator to escalate to if something goes wrong, or AED as a base currency without conversion. If those are non-negotiables for you, look at a broker under FCA, CySEC or ASIC supervision, or one licensed by the SCA/CMA or DFSA, and accept lower leverage and a shorter account menu as the price.

Questions

Does FXGT hold a UAE licence?

No. GT Global Ltd holds Seychelles FSA Securities Dealer Licence No. SD019, and there is no SCA or DFSA licence behind UAE retail accounts. Local rules require a UAE licence to offer forex or CFDs to the public, so this is offshore activity outside that framework.

What does the Seychelles licence actually cover?

It covers the Seychelles-regulated entity and its conduct obligations there. It does not give you access to a UAE investor-protection or compensation scheme, and it is not equivalent to supervision by the SCA/CMA, DFSA or FSRA.

Can I fund an FXGT account in AED?

No AED-denominated account exists. Base currencies are USD, EUR and JPY, so AED deposits get converted. Which specific AED payment rails are supported was not verified at review, so confirm with support before you plan a funding route.
